All is well

Well, after two more doctor's appointments, last Thursday and again today, all appears to be well with both babies. Last Thursday was my regular ob/gyn appointment and today was an ultrasound to check on the babies. It turns out that I will be having ultrasounds every 4 weeks from now until they are born. Exciting, but I hope that it doesn't disturb them too much.

They were not very photogenic today - so only a couple of pictures of them to post. Oh well...:-)
The top picture is of our baby boy - you can't see his face, only his little ear and his hand up in front of his mouth. The second photo is of Lili's arm and leg - she looks all curled up - so cute! At some point today she had her feet in her brother's face - but the doctor assured me that she couldn't do any damage haha! The third photo is of both heads together - it's rare to be able to get them both in a photo - especially now that they are getting so big, so I kind of liked this one.

We are getting more and more excited - yesterday marked 25 weeks. I'm scheduling some maternity photos since this is hopefully the last time I will be pregnant. I found a great photographer to take them and I'm pretty excited about the whole thing. In the meantime, I need to remember to take some snapshots and send them. People usually think I'm about ready to give birth, but I've still hopefully got 13 or so more weeks to go!

Thomas has been having some behavioral problems, so we're going to be focusing a lot of energy on that for a while. He's naturally willful and a bit temperamental and we're trying to figure out how to manage it and how to channel him in the right direction. It seems lately like we're struggling a bit with that. We are going to meet with his teacher and a social worker soon to try to get some advice on how to handle him. I know part of it is that my patience is much thinner these days, but he has also escalated some of his button pushing. We need to get a handle on all of this and preferably before the babies come.

We had a very good and social weekend - Friday night we went out with our friends Eric and Heidi to see Teatro Zinzanni - it was fantastic! I forgot just how much fun that show really is! We ended up staying out late and I was so tired the next morning I felt hung over even though I didn't have anything to drink. Ugh. But totally worth it - we had a really good time. We had an equally nice time on Sunday getting to visit with our friends Henry and Sara and their 14 week old baby, Hank. Hank is getting so big and looks so healthy and sooo cute! Emmett made a delicious dinner and the four of us had a great visit - we have all been so busy that it had been a while since we got together - fun! Thomas loves when they come over, but he was a bit bummed I think that now he has to share the attention with Hank - maybe that will be a preview for him of what it's going to be like when his siblings come...which wouldn't be an entirely bad thing - I don't want him to be bummed out that the babies are coming, but I also am feeling somewhat anxious about him being blindsided by their arrival and what that means for him. I'm sure it will all work out okay, but I just don't want him to feel left out. Thomas is always going to be my precious first born son, my precious angel. :-)

Okay, better run, it's late and I haven't had lunch yet.

Hope all's well out there.

Love,
Melissa
