More drama

It seems these days there is never a dull moment.

Last Friday I started having a lot of abdominal pain that didn't go away. By Sunday night I was back to taking Vicodin and still having a lot of pain. So off Emmett and I headed to California Pacific Medical Center for a trip to the emergency room.

Turned out I had an awfully inflamed gallbladder - and I'm here to tell you that that is one incredibly painful experience. I got admitted to the hospital that night and ended up having my gallbladder removed via emergency surgery the next day (Monday). I guess I had hundreds of stones (the surgeon said it was like gravel in there) and adhesions - pretty yucky but not at the point of being terribly dangerous. A very good thing to have it removed when I did.

They wanted me to stay two days after the surgery, but I decided I wanted to come home yesterday. Even if I still can't do too much for the babies, I'd like to at least be here with them. Thank heaven my Mom was still here to help us get through this - but I know she is completely exhausted at this point, as is Emmett.

Anyway, that's our latest drama. I'm pretty sore, but feeling a whole lot better than I did a few days ago, so that's a good thing.

As I said, never a dull moment. :-)

The babies are currently on a 2 hour feeding cycle, so there is very little time to write or send email these days. Hopefully I'll be able to update y'all again sometime next week - but then I know it's going to be completely nuts when my Mom goes home.

Love,
Melissa

I am glad that everything worked out for you. I know what it is like to have horrible abdominal pains. I had my gall bladder out I think 2 years ago. Keep walking, you may not want to do it, but it is the best thing.

    TTYL,
    Joanna
