Tommy is counting!

I have to make this quick, for sure, but there is so much to recap over the last three days that I don't want to leave it all for tomorrow morning.

First and foremost, my parents survived Frances. The only damage was to one of their trees, it lost some branches. It is a great relief - they have been waiting and nearly going insane with anticipation over this whole thing. I wasn't overly worried, but it was kind of this dark cloud hanging around the edges of everything, so I was glad to hear that it was over and all was well.

The next thing that's important is that Tommy has started counting! Not just reciting the numbers, but actually trying to count things, like when he stacks his blocks he will count them as he's stacking them...'1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9,10' - all the way to 10!!!! Yesterday when we were coming home he counted the stairs as we went up them...he's doing so well, and I'm so proud! He started this while Emmett's Mom was watching him on Saturday night and when she told me she sounded so amazed that it made me even more proud. haha They were using his blocks to build a fort for his jungle animals that I bought him last week. He loves them and has already learned what all 12 of them are. Granted, he knew some of them before, but he's still learned some pretty amazing things - the most amazing in my book is that he can distinguish the hippo from the rhino 100% of the time!!!!!! He's so smart sometimes it scares me - hahaha - no, I'm not a proud mother or anything ;-).


Well, more in the morning, I'm pretty tired, it's way past my bed time. I never thought I'd see the day I'd be going to bed at 10pm every night. Life sure has a way of changing...
